Because of its association with a vague tweet by Boueibu director, Shinji Takamatsu, this image is thought to be a possible season 2 teaser, but it's actually the first color production picture for the series. Click for actual tweet.

Interesting how much green was used here! The color scheme reminds me of a post apocalyptic or a fighting demons after dark kind of series... with magical boys? /laughs 

That being said, the tweet in English that was along the lines of "Let's meet in the summer!" was posted after this one and has since been deleted. So, maybe...?

This was the first color image released of the Seifukubu before the second promotional video back in 2014 and before their profile sheets had been updated.

Boueibu, artistically, touts a lot of green/red complements, so if the Defense Club were ironically greener, that might be why the Conquest Club were pinker here.

I totally agree about how dark it looks - when I saw this picture, my first thought was "They look like they stepped right out of Higurashi." It looks super-creepy, but in a really interesting way.

Then I took a closer look at Yumoto's eyes and realized that they're basically the same as Haruka's infamous laser eyes in Uta no Prince-sama. NGL, I'd watch magical boy idols...

That's funny you should say, since in its early drafts, at the close of each episode, the Boueibu boys would have gone to karaoke instead of the bath house. We were close to getting magical boy idols and kind of did for one event. xD

I really love the creepy vibe, actually. I don't find it fitting for Boueibu's cast and goal, but I do think that would be an interesting premise. Like, maybe a dark spin on magical boys where they have to protect the world at night when the monsters come out...

Karaoke? Oh god, that would be awesome! Maybe we'll get something like this in the second season, that would be cool.
Personally I prefer the current colours, these kinda hurt my eyes ;p The current ones are more soft and I think that suits the series better. But one thing I surely love is to see how the series evolved before airing :D
